With its tireless trading scene, Oshakati is now officially a bustling metropolis. Unfortunately, its architectural backdrop doesn’t quite mirror the city’s success. Today, plans are in motion to change all of that. In 2009, BAR developed an overarching Concept Master Plan (CMP) for the city: a tool to help local authorities organise, build and maintain Oshakati as a modern and comfortable urban environment to live and work in. The result will be a panoply of districts, squares and parks, finally doing the city’s rapidly beating heart justice.
