Kokchetau
Nestled along the banks of Kopa Lake in North Kazakhstan is the city of Kokchetau. Despite playing an important administrative role for the region, the dated architectural facades have been crying out for renewal for decades. BAR decided to answer this call.
BAR’s plans for the city include a monumental district featuring the town hall and key government buildings, a picturesque lake shore and leisure district, a main avenue, a multitude of quarters, public facilities, shops, a university... Kokchetau is on the brink of becoming an eco-friendly, global city with a healthy urban murmur.
